Edit Car skin

Hi guys,

I want to edit my car skin and make a few amendments. Does anyone have any tips or pointers they can make. I literally just want to add a few details here and there. I have used photoshop in the past so I can do a bit but I'm not sure where to get started on the car itself (opening files, compression etc). Are there any guides?

I use winRAR for opening file and able to drag and drop from there straight into Photoshop. Save on desktop in same file name and drag and drop it back in. If you haven't got it already you will need photoshop plugin found here http://developer.nvidia.com/object/phot ... ugins.html to open dds files in Photoshop. The file for the main body you will want to paint is called Diffuse.dds. Need anymore help just ask mate.

Basics of it is your gona need this plugin for photoshop to open the .dds files http://developer.nvidia.com/object/phot ... ugins.html

then open your car zip file and look for a file called "diffuse" thats the main body file... just drag and drop that in to photoshop. do your tweeks then when your done go to ..... file/save as , and change the file so it saves as a .dds file type and call it diffuse again. i always save mine to the desktop then re open the zip file and drag n drop the new file in. it should replace the old file... and your done. i normaly change the name of the car after all that or ppl that already have your old car will see the old skin rather than the new.

if you want to change more the other files are..

details.dds -- normaly stuff like the inside of the car/driver/lights
projshad.dds--- is the car's shadow... can be made to look like neons n stuff

Something else you might want to know. If you've already done anything to your skin with ingame painter you will need to download original again. You will see that when you try loading it into Potoshop if it's an ingame painter skin it will be low quality and hard to make it out what's what

Thanks guys. I just wanna stick some numberplates on the DB9R and change some little colours. Maybe some lettering on the spoiler. That should get me started hehehe.
