TM at Epic LAN

Later this month I'll be mostly spending the 25th - 28th February in a darkened room at Uttoxeter Racecourse at EpicLan 3. It's 16:00 Thursday until 16:00 on Sunday with (up to 120 others) playing networked games like Team Fortress 2, Battlefield 2, AvP, Unreal Tournament, Quake 3 Arena and Track Mania - and that's what I'm looking forward to the most!

I still can't believe that my Mrs said "Yes" to:

Lifting her thumb
Spending 3 nights away from home and her with the kids
Spending £50 on the entrance fee and booking a hotel room to crash in during the day

Maybe she's got a toy-boy lined up?!

Now I know that I'm old (too old?) for this sort of thing but what the heck? I've not been to a LAN meet in years and this will probably be my last one so I'm going out in style I'm really happy that there will be a TM tournament during the event with games scheduled into the timetable on Saturday with the finals on Sunday. I've no idea what tracks will be used but I'm trying to get an hour a day of TM practise in. There's no doubt that I'll get wasted if there are players with the skills and reactions of some of you lot (Bandwidth Bandit / Wabbit / Assist / Zipster / Skeleton come to mind) but I'll enjoy the taking part and hope that I can get to the finals.

Firstly my reactions are as fast as a 3 legged hippo...

Secondly, how awesome is that lan part going to be? I wouldnt last 5 seconds but looks great. I used to join Unreal Tournament Parties with work mates they were good times

I went too LAN once for a PC Call of Duty 4 tournament with several of the best teams in England, boy was that s*** fun.. our team came joint 3rd and was amazing.

Try and go with someone you know in real life or a friend from online that you know well who is also going and you'll have a whale of a time.

I think ZIP should make thousands of more tracks.. wuhey!
